A unicorn for food allergies

Allergist Susana Ranea publishes a storybook guide to understanding this condition and better understanding adrenaline.

About 6% of children suffer from a food allergy. Far from what you might think, people become allergic to the foods they are exposed to on a daily basis, to what they have next to them, not those that are ingested occasionally.

If something so basic can surprise many, what do we know about these types of conditions that can bring the body to a standstill? With the aim of understanding food allergies, educating parents and children about them, and emphasizing the importance of proper use of adrenaline, allergist Susana Ranea has published “Adrenaline, the Magic Unicorn” (Henko Editions, 2023). It will be officially presented this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. at the Col·legi de Metges headquarters.
